The Texas Foundation For Archaeological & Historical Research was
incorporated in 1985, and has been a tax-exempt organization under Section
501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code since 1988.

The Foundation was established to enable Texas teachers and students to
expand their historical, archaeological and scientific knowledge by providing
opportunities for them to participate in archaeological excavations and
historical study expeditions overseas.

To this end the Foundation has provided for more than 100 trips for Texas
teachers, students and volunteers since 1986 to:
Israel - excavations at Tel Aphek - Antipatris, Tel 'Ira, Zur Natan,
Pardessiya, and Kohav Yair.
Bulgaria - excavations at Silistra on the Danube River.
Republic of Macedonia - excavations in the Lower Vardar Valley,
Morodvis, and near Lake Prespa.
France - survey and excavations at the Abbey of Valmagne.
Study tours for small groups of teachers in Spain, France and Greece.
Recent TFAHR-sponsored projects include:
The Texas Foundation for Archaeological & Historical Research
Archaeological excavations at Vardarski Rid, Gloska Cuka and
Morodvis in the Republic of Macedonia.
A "mock dig" for fifth graders in the Canyon Lake, Texas area.
An archaeological study tour, open to the public, to central and
eastern Turkey.

Macedonia with an international team of students, teachers and
volunteers.  A
report and photos on the summer 2007 excavations
