For the 2007 season at Vardarski Rid, TFAHR and our colleagues from the
Museum of Gevgelija and the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje,
conducted a field school with over 40 students, teachers and volunteers from the
USA (Texas, California, New York, Florida, Colorado), Canada, Australia, France,
Macedonia, Norway, the Czech Republic, Russia and Slovakia. Team members
contributed to all facets of the excavation program, including: excavation work in
the field; documentation of excavations; and processing of finds and pottery
(washing, drawing, documenting, restoration). In addition, transportation for field
trips to archaeological sites in Macedonia was funded by TFAHR, and evening
lectures by American, Macedonian and Bulgarian archaeologists were presented
to the field school.
